I have been a musician for most of my life. I began by singing in talent shows with my sister. When I was 9, I began playing violin through my school orchestra, then performing in my community. I played a lot of songs by ear, while learning to read and write music. By the time I was a teenager, I had performed in multiple pit orchestras for school and community musicals.
My love for music led me to study Music Education in undergraduate and graduate school, and to do research in teaching and learning of music. In private settings, I have worked with young children through elderly adults, and have taught at Johnson State College as well. I learned the viola to perform in classical and jazz orchestra at the University of Vermont. For some time, I performed with local NYC bands including Marc Barnhill and The Sorely Missed, as well as Glassdoll.
Currently, I perform with some local orchestras, and although my career is shifting direction, I will still continue to play and enjoy music!
